COMPASS

Communities Older Members Accessing Services and Support - a service to help the over 65s maintain their quality of life and reduce their social isolation.

Following a discussion with the older person, the COMPASS team identify interesting activities and additional support that will help the person maintain their independence, then link them up.  This could mean arranging for the person to get to a lunch or social club; for the crime prevention officer to visit and discuss security; finding out about art classes or oral history sessions at the local library - the specific activities are tailored to each individual.   

COMPASS is available across the whole of Poole, as well as West Howe and Kinson in Bournemouth.
